The Canadian leg of the Trophy Tour began in style on April 10 when Italian legend Fabio Cannavaro — captain of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad and that year’s Ballon d’Or winner — unveiled the FIFA World Cup Trophy at the Art Gallery of Vancouver.
Cannavaro, one of only eight players in history to win both the World Cup and the Ballon d’Or in the same year, spoke about the magic of the tournament and what it means for Canada to co-host.
